Can you have processed foods in your diet? The key is flexible dieting.
Processed foods are on a spectrum. Things like almond butter and cottage cheese are actually processed foods, and they’re perfectly healthy for you. Foods like Doritos or McDonalds, maybe not so much.
There is absolutely room for things like Mission Carb Wraps and Built Bars to help you hit your fiber and protein goals every day. Yes, single-ingredient foods are the cornerstone of your diet, but don’t oversimplify the processed food conversation without context.
Follow the 80-20 rule. 80% of your diet should focus on single ingredient foods, while 20% of your diet can include foods you enjoy, or foods like protein bars that help you hit your macros. Remember, foods like Greek yogurt are processed, but technically still part of the 80%.
