Your curls don’t just need more moisture this time of year.
Most people assume their hair is dry, pile on the conditioning, and end up with curls that look weighed down and don’t last.
The real fix is balancing your conditioning and hold.
That balance is what helps curls stay defined, voluminous, and long lasting, especially in winter.
Here are a few ways to approach it based on your hair:
If your hair is soft or very fine
1. A lightweight, water based heat protectant with a little slip
2. A srong hold gel that is low in conditioning ingredients
If your hair is between soft and rough and needs some moisture
1. A medium weight, conditioning strong hold gel on its own
If your hair is rough or coarse and needs more moisture
1. A highly conditioning strong hold gel on its own
OR
1. A leave in or curl cream
2. A strong hold gel
The key is looking at the total amount of conditioning across all your products, not just one step.
